Red Shoes:
Who is Red Shoes and why does he have a band named after him?

I got my first pair of red shoes many years ago, with no idea that they would become my entire identity. I simply needed some sneakers. I was broke, and they were Nike's on sale for $20. I bought them because no one else would, and it ended up being a bargain for me. The whole thing is much less interesting than anyone could ever imagine.

When I started wearing them regularly, it seemed to be the only thing people saw when they looked at me. Even with this spectacular body and masculine good looks, no one ever looked at me. They only looked at my shoes.
I felt like a woman with big boobs. No one ever looked me in the eye.

I didn't really name myself Red Shoes, everyone else did. I have an odd last name anyway so Red Shoes was just easier for everyone to remember and I just went with it.

Now jump forward about 10 years and 20 pairs of red shoes. I was just your average 46 year old having a midlife crisis. My first reaction was to go buy a Corvette and start cruising for 22 year old girls, but that's been done to death, and I always like to be different, so I said to myself, "self, what have you always wanted to do, but never got around to it?" The answer was "sing with a live band!"

Of course I had no idea how to go about such a thing nor did I know if I was skilled or qualified to do such a thing. So I started going to jam sessions and open mic nights, learning songs, and practicing, hoping that I would fit in somewhere.

Well, it's been a long slow ride, but here I am, with the hottest rockabilly band in the area and teetering on the brink of fame, if not fortune! If it all works out, it will be a lot easier to get the Corvette and the 22 year old girl!

Come see us some time.
Red Shoes

Hey Kids!
Have you had The Red Shoes Band play at your venue yet? Well what are you waiting for? Since our demo clips were put on line we have upgraded our show, eliminated the keyboard, and now feature 2 smoking hot "dueling guitar" stars in every show, in addition to that high energy fat guy that fronts the band! We play 50s rock and roll, rockabilly, and a spattering of swing, blues, and country. The rotating cast of guitar greats that take turns dueling  keeps expanding and now includes the following players and their claims to fame if you don't recognize the names right away.

Gary Gramolini, (gold record artists John Cafferty & the Beaver Brown Band)
Eric Reinhart, (The gamma Rays, and toured with The Buddy Holly Band)
Bill Coover, (The Memphis Rockabilly Band)
Neal Vitullo, (Young Neal & the Vipers)
Frankie Blandino, (Little Frankie and the Premiers, the Fathoms )
Jerry Miller, (Jack Smith and the Rockabilly Planet, The J. Giels Blues Band)
Rob Nelson, (Loaded Dice, Lazy Lester, Blueswagon, Roger Ceresi's All Starz)

Plus an occasional appearance by other great Boston and RI players. The rhythm section includes Mike LaBelle on drums and Jack Hanlon on standup bass most days, but when they need a day off you can find Stan Kozlowski on drums, or Tommy Reed, Kevin Martin, or Johnny Custom sitting in on bass. It's like a team with a deep bench! These guys have played all over the Northeast for years, and most have toured nationally and internationally, but because they all live in New England, you can have them in your club, dance hall or backyard for prices that anyone can afford!

Don't miss out. Get this great band in to your venue today!

Gary “Guitar” Gramolini:
As a charter member of John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band,
Gary has enjoyed three decades of international success as a touring
and recording artist. The double platinum soundtrack to "Eddie &
The Cruisers" and its platinum follow-up, "Tough All Over", established
the band as a "classic rock" band which still performs nationwide to this
day.

In between engagements with Beaver Brown , he leads one of the most
popular club acts in southern New England, Gary Guitar & The Grinders.
